B. Communication in Freefall


It's impossible to talk to each other while freefalling so your instructors will use a set of signs to communicate with you. In the video below we remind you of the basic position then we present to you the different signs that will be used in freefall and how to react to them.


Let's review here the three signs that are most frequently used:



Arch

This sign means that you need to arch your pelvis more. Then push your pelvis towards the ground.



Push your legs against the wind

This sign means that you should push your legs against the wind. In freefall, you should feel constant pressure on your shins and your feet pushing against the wind.



Read your altimeter

This sign means you need to read your altimeter. Attention ! Reading the altimeter means being aware of the altitude it indicates and not just “looking” at the altimeter.
